Even though we work for you (not the financial institution), we get paid by the financial institution (not you!). Their “finders fees” reimburses us for bringing them creditworthy customers like you. And since these fees are similar across most lenders, there’s no incentive for us to favour one lender over another. In very rare instances – if, for example, you have bruised credit – a broker may charge a fee, but in the vast majority of cases, there’s absolutely no charge to you!
We are highly motivated to get your mortgage completed fast.
After we’ve analyzed your financial situation and goals, we shop several lenders for the mortgages that best meet your needs. Once we agree on the final choice, we place your mortgage with that particular lender. Only after all the details are taken care of and your mortgage is complete do we receive our “finders fee” from the lender. This provides strong motivation for us to keep your deal moving forward to early completion.

About Family Group
Steven Doni is a second generation mortgage broker with over 20 years experience in the industry.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Steven is following his father Frank’s footsteps who started Family Group back in May, 1991.
Steven holds a degree in Financial Services Underwriting when he attended Seneca College back in 2005. Steven is always improving and upgrading his education by attending numerous workshops and seminars.
He has his “AMP” designation which stands for Accredited Mortgage Professional. Steven is also a member of the Canadian Mortgage Broker Association of Ontario and Mortgage Professional Canada
When Steven isn’t working in the office, he enjoys CrossFit training, travelling to different countries, attending sporting events, concerts and musicals. Steven enjoys volunteering and giving back to his community by being a part of The Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers. He is always reading books on self-improvement and biographies. Finally, he always loves spending time with his 4 year old nephew Cruz.
